Þórr, described in the Prose Edda as the most prominent among the Æsir, bears Mjǫllnir (The Crusher) and fights against the forces of ignorance, the jötnar. In Lokasenna text Þórr says:
“Silence, thou evil being!
my mighty hammer,
Mjöllnir, shall cease thy speech.
out I will hurl thee
to the eastern way,
and no one shall see thee after.”
"Þegi þú, rög vættr,
þér skal minn þrúðhamarr,
Mjöllnir, mál fyrnema;
upp ek þér verp
ok á austrvega,
síðan þik manngi sér."
That happens after Loki insults the Æsir and the Ásynjur, his final punishment is being bound and tortured with snake's venom, after fleeing the scene in fear of being killed by Þórr, the Haussprengi Hrungnis (Destroyer of Hrungnir's Skull)
